Great News: A New Van!
The Wakefield Food Pantry is excited to take ownership of a wonderful new transport van.
The van was made possible by the generosity of a substantial grant by the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) and the Wakefield community’s many donations, plus a significant anonymous gift.
“The van will be a great asset to the operation of the Pantry and the ancillary programs it sponsors,” explained Debbie Jones, Food Pantry Manager.
On a weekly basis, Pantry volunteers travel to numerous stores where large quantities
4 v 4 Soccer Jamboree – Aug 17 – 18
Wakefield will host its first-ever 4v4 Soccer Jamboree this summer to support the Wakefield Food Pantry. Divisions are open for both youths and adults.
Registration Deadline Extended to August 11, 2019 !
Games start at 9:00 am and will end by early afternoon.

WFP Spring Breakfast
The Heritage Americal Civic Center came alive on the morning of June 5, as volunteers, donors, and friends of the Wakefield Food Pantry gathered to celebrate another year of serving neighbors in need. Guests enjoyed a continental breakfast while watching a slide show featuring the daily workings of the Pantry, and were advised to check the walls for posters featuring key facts and statistics about food insecurity in general and the Pantry in particular.

9-yr-old Pays it Forward

During a church service, nine-year-old Isabelle had an incredible find in a hymnal book. Along with a $20 bill, she found a note that said: “If you find this, it is meant for you. If you need it, use it and then look for a way to help someone else, financially or otherwise. If you don’t need it, please pass it on to someone else along with this note. ” Isabelle
